Persatuan Mahasiswa Indonesia di Amerika Serikat Ames
PERMIAS Ames, "Persatuan Mahasiswa Indonesia di Amerika Serikat," is a non-profit multicultural organization that unites Indonesian college students in the United States of America specifically in the city of Ames, Iowa and Iowa State University. In English, PERMIAS means "Organization of the Indonesian Students in the United States of America." PERMIAS Ames is also recognized by Iowa State University as the Indonesian Student Association. PERMIAS Ames organizes annual events for the purpose of sharing the Indonesian cuisine, music, art, dance, and language to the Iowa State University and Ames community. Another focus of PERMIAS is to help incoming Freshman, transfer students, and graduate students with their transition to Ames, Iowa and Iowa State university. PERMIAS Ames provides its members with an opportunity to become involved in campus events and develop leadership and social skills throughout their college careers. Currently there are 12 active members of PERMIAS Ames and 33 Indonesian undergraduate and graduate students at Iowa State University.
