VEISHEA International Food Fair
VEISHEA is the largest student-run on-campus festival celebration in the United States. It is a celebration of the first five colleges at Iowa State University, namely: Veterinary, Engineering, Industrial Science, Home Economics, and Agriculture College. The International Food Fair occured this year on Saturday, April 21st, the Saturday of the VEISHEA celebration.
Permias Ames offered the Ames and Iowa State community with authentic Indonesian dishes: Ayam Bakar Jawa (Grilled Java Chicken) and Gado-Gado salad. In addition, we complimented each customer free kerupuk udang. We raised over $500 net profit for our organization making this year's VEISHEA International Food Fair our most successful. Below is our recipe for Grilled Java Chicken which we would like to share with other Permias organizations around the United States in hopes that they will have as much success as we did.
